President John Champion's Statue Ready for Placement

The likenesses of past Presidents are projects that we at the Master Craftsman Studio do not take lightly. The statues of leaders such as these represent everything this school has stood for, as well as the legacy these statues will oversee for years to come.

John Champion was president of The Florida State University from 1965 to 1969. His legacy oversaw the opening of the FSU School of Law, among a plethora of other tasks. President Champion's legacy also included the construction of the Fine Arts Building and inauguration of the university’s Artist Series; objectives which craftsmen everywhere can appreciate.

Standing a towering 6' 10'' this bronze statue represents more than just a man, but the larger than life character of the President which presented the degree to Florida State's first black graduate, Maxwell Courtney.

Though the date and location have not been set, we can rest assured that President Champion's statue will find its resting spot on the campus which he helped shape. Like the legacy of Florida State University, John Champion's likeness will live on forever.
